During the final day of Communicating For Safety 2024, the Professional Standards Committee held a productive meeting with NATCA members and international air traffic controllers. Participants shared insights on their own Professional Standards Programs. The committee also shared a booth in the #NATCACFS exhibit hall with ATSAP, Partnership for Safety, and Right From the Start, emphasizing the strong connection between safety and professionalism. Looking ahead, the committee is set to begin another year of training this fall, continuing its mission to promote professionalism within NATCA and beyond.
"It was awesome to get together with several of my fellow professional standards committee members to discuss challenges and triumphs we have faced solving issues in the field over the last year," James Squire (ZLA) LA PS District Chair Mentee said. "Getting to meet and hear from other controllers from around the world was the cherry on top. We all face the same issues in this career, whether it's in the tower, at the scope, or in the break room."
