Next two “super loads” moving from Adams County to New Albany

COLUMBUS - The eighteenth and nineteenth of nearly two dozen "super loads" will depart the dock site in Adams County on Friday, September 20 and Saturday, September 21. Both loads will be delivered at different times on Sunday, September 22.

Both loads are absorbers and are identical to the 17th load measuring at 17'4" tall, 18" wide, and 86' long. They weigh 129,000 pounds.

Load #18 will travel from Manchester to Rickenbacker on Friday, September 20. Load #19 will make the same trip and join Load #18 at Rickenbacker on Saturday, September 21. Load #18 will depart at approximately 6:30am on Sunday, September 22 and stop at Freedom Way in Pickerington. The crew will then go back to Rickenbacker and transport Load #19 through the city of Columbus all the way to the Intel site. Upon delivery, the crew will backtrack to Freedom Way and continue the route with Load #18 to delivery.

Since these loads are smaller, the traffic impacts are expected to be minimal.

The schedule of each of the nearly two dozen loads will be checked against local events, like festivals and fairs, to further minimize impacts.

Notifications will continue to be made in advance of each load leaving the dock on the Ohio River near the village of Manchester in Adams County. Updates will be provided as each load moves north toward central Ohio.
