Investigation into Deceased Male at 5409 South Rice Avenue

October 14, 2024- Houston police are investigating the death of a male found at 5409 South Rice Avenue about 9:45 p.m. on Sunday (Oct. 13).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives A. Ledford and G. Zavala reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a report of a deceased male behind a business center at the above address. Upon arrival they located the male, who is believed to be homeless, unresponsive. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences arrived on scene, and after examining the body, found injuries consistent with strangulation. His cause of death will be determined by an autopsy.
