On September 15, 2024, troopers from SP Geneseo responded to the Groveland Correctional Facility in the town of Groveland for a male subject who brought contraband into the facility.

Subsequent to an investigation, Thomas N. McFaddan, age 62, of Rochester, NY, allegedly introduced contraband, including approximately 2.5 grams of cocaine into the facility. McFadden was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (B Felony), Knowingly Introduces Dangerous Contraband into Prison (D Felony), and two counts of Introducing Contraband into Prison 2nd (A Misdemeanor). McFadden was then transported to the Livingston County Jail for centralized arraignment.
