Cassidy Announces $5.4 Million for Tribal Broadband from His Infrastructure Law

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced the U.S. Department of Commerce's National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) will grant Louisiana tribal communities $5,415,550.00 for broadband infrastructure. The Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana will receive $4,919,614.00 to provide high-speed internet access to approximately 190 households in the area. The Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana will receive $495,936.00 to increase broadband access and affordability and address digital literacy.

"Communities of every size throughout Louisiana are benefitting from the Infrastructure Law," said Dr. Cassidy. "Because I had a seat at the table, Louisiana tribal communities are getting faster and more reliable internet while we build Louisiana's economy for 2050."
