Secretary of State Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski meets with Uzbekistan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

The deputy ministers emphasised the very good relationship between Poland and Uzbekistan. They pointed to strong foundations for these friendly ties in the memorial sites dedicated to soldiers of Anders' Army, whose graves are located in Uzbekistan. The deputy ministers noted a need for both countries to further enhance their relations, not only at the level of state authorities but also people-to-people ties.

Secretary of State Władysław Teofil Bartoszewski and Deputy Minister Muzaffar Madrahimov expressed their hope that the economic cooperation, especially in such promising sectors as energy, agriculture, mining and pharmaceuticals, will develop in a way that yields benefits for both countries. They also underlined the great potential of Poland and Uzbekistan for boosting their trade relations.

The officials pointed to the significant role of the cooperation of Uzbekistan and other Central Asian countries with the European Union. The deputy ministers highlighted the need to enhance regional cooperation, taking into account the upcoming Polish presidency of the Council of the EU, in the first half of 2025. They also discussed the most important topics relating to regional problems, security and migration in both Central Europe and Central Asia.
