Two Juveniles Arrested Near Cleveland High School, Two Guns Recovered

Seattle Police arrested two juveniles for possession of two firearms in South Seattle on June 18th.

At 12:50 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of young juveniles flashing a gun inside of a vehicle near 17th Avenue South and South Orcas Street.

As the officers arrived, the driver exited the vehicle and ran from police. He was captured by an officer after a brief foot chase.

Another officer detained the remaining juveniles inside the car and recovered a loaded firearm equipped with a "switch," which allows for automatic firing. Additional resources arrived and detained all the occupants.

Two of the juveniles, both 17, were arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm. They were booked into juvenile detention at the judge Patrica H. Clark Children & Family Justice Center.

The others were investigated and released to their parents.

Officers served a search warrant on the vehicle and recovered an additional loaded firearm. Both guns were seized as evidence.

Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit will take lead on this case.
