Corpus Christi International Airport Sees Major Improvements in FY 2024

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The Corpus Christi International Airport (CCIA) continued its commitment to improving the overall passenger experience in fiscal year 2024 by significantly improving and upgrading terminal facilities.

As a part of the Terminal Rehabilitation Project, CCIA received several upgrades to enhance the traveler experience and improve operational efficiency.

Improvements included:

  • All public-facing restrooms renovated
  • Addition of an outdoor patio, indoor and outdoor animal relief areas, and mother's nursing room
  • New energy management system
  • Replaced 40-year-old cooling towers

"These significant improvements to our airport reflect our commitment to providing a world-class travel experience," said Airport Director Kevin Smith. "By modernizing our facilities and offering new amenities, we're enhancing the comfort and convenience of our passengers and encouraging travel to and from our local airport."

In October 2024, CCIA, in partnership with Tailwind Concessions, opened the Nueces Brewing Bar between gates 1 and 3. This new addition is part of a larger plan to modernize the airport's dining and shopping options. In the upcoming fiscal year, travelers can look forward to the opening of Island Joe's Coffee and Gift Shop, Gulf Coast Capital Bar and Grill, Amazon's innovative Just Walk Out shop, Salty Oak BBQ, and a new, exclusive VIP lounge.

Future projects include:

  • Design of International Drive reconstruction
  • Continuation of LED conversion on airport property

These projects will enhance safety and promote energy efficiency at the airport.
