11/26/2024 - Fones Rd Corridor Project

Making Fones Road safer for people that walk, use a wheelchair, ride a bicycle, or drive.
Notice of Upcoming Work
Starting as early as Monday December 2nd, crews will begin utility verification work on Fones Road between Pacific Avenue and 18th Avenue SE. This work is anticipated to continue through the end of December. Once complete, our contractor will begin relocating and installing new underground utilities. To verify the locations of underground utilities, crews will cut into the existing pavement and use a vacuum truck to safely excavate around the conduit.
What to Expect During this Work
  • Crews will be working between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Pavement saws and vacuum trucks are unavoidably noisy while in operation.
  • This work will require at least two vehicles and space to operate.
  • Expect frequent lane closures.
  • Flaggers will direct traffic and assist pedestrians as needed.
  • Fones Road will remain open and access to businesses will be maintained during this work.
