Ottobock.X3: Smart leg prosthesis at the Cybathlon
For those with a conventional leg prosthesis, climbing stairs and negotiating uneven terrain are almost insurmountable obstacles. But drawing on ETH expertise, Team Ottobock.X3 has now designed an intelligent prosthesis that helps its wearer move about more freely.

For the prosthetic leg race at Cybathlon 2024, ETH's Competence Centre for Rehabilitation Engineering and Science (RESC) joined forces with Ottobock and ORTHO-TEAM to form Team Ottobock.X3. In this video, competition pilot Filip Pockelé and his teammates explain how the prosthesis thinks for itself and helps Pockelé to power through the race tasks.
