U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy

The U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy (ACPD) will hold an in-person public meeting with online access from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 30, 2024. A panel of experts will discuss the role international expositions have in promoting U.S. interests, with an eye towards the State Department's coordination of the USA Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, held from April 13 to October 13, 2025.

This meeting is open to the public, including the media and members and staff of governmental and non-governmental organizations. The event will take place at Meridian International Center, 1624 Crescent Place NW, Washington, DC 20009.

Congress created the bipartisan ACPD in 1948 to appraise U.S. government activities intended to understand, inform, and influence foreign publics. The Commission conducts research that provides honest assessments of public diplomacy efforts and disseminates findings through reports, white papers, and other publications. It also holds public symposia that generate informed discussions on public diplomacy issues. The Commission reports to the President, Secretary of State, and Congress.
