Polish healthcare provider the NU-MED Group, Belgian software provider Consono, and the Estonian IT Centre (RIT) have joined organizations across Europe in selecting Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud to help meet their data privacy and residency requirements. By migrating their critical business systems and services to Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud, they will be able to take advantage of flexible, secure, and high-performance cloud computing resources while running their sensitive data from within the borders of the EU with support from EU-resident personnel.
The NU-MED Group, a leading radiotherapy, oncology, and cancer diagnostics provider in Poland, is migrating its central hospital information system (HIS) that manages its core business and operational systems to Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud. With Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud, the NU-MED Group will be able to modernize and automate its HIS applications, including patient management, medical records, billing, HR, drug management, and procurement, as part of a multi-year digitalization program. In addition, Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud will help the NU-MED Group reduce operational costs, increase IT efficiency and sustainability, ensure patient data and infrastructure security, and meet data sovereignty requirements.
"Running our business systems in data centers located in the EU, with operations run by EU legal entities and personnel, is an important part of our data protection strategy as well as our broader cloud adoption plans," said Piotr Rajski, chief technology officer, the NU-MED Group. "Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud provides us with all the flexibility and agility of the cloud with compute resources located entirely within the EU. This enables us to consolidate and modernize our operations and improve our patients' experience while giving us greater visibility and control of critical data assets and ensuring healthcare data and infrastructure security."
The Estonian IT Centre (RIT), which provides shared ICT services to the government of Estonia, is using Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer with EU Sovereign Operations to run critical central government operations. Deployed in RIT's own datacenters in Estonia, Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer enables RIT to improve the scalability of government systems while supporting compliance with its data security and residency regulations. As an integral part of this sovereign solution, Exadata Cloud@Customer is managed by the Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud operations team, with support from EU-resident personnel, helping to ensure that sensitive citizen data is processed within the EU.
"Oracle Exadata Cloud@Customer provides us with advanced Oracle Database performance and high availability to support critical government applications," said Ergo Tars, director, Estonian IT Centre. "Deployed behind our firewalls and with operations managed by the Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud team, it helps us gain cloud benefits while maintaining alignment with regional data residency and access regulations. Having a cloud in our datacenters is something we are not able to achieve with conventional public cloud services."
Consono, a data analytics software provider based in Belgium, is running a dedicated instance of its Dynizer analytics SaaS platform on Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud to support its customer Cevi, a provider of IT services for the Belgian public sector. Consono seamlessly deployed Dynizer to Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud with the same architecture and competencies used in its Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) commercial regions. The deployment enables Cevi to run document management analytics for New Social, its social services platform, entirely on the cloud while helping to ensure sensitive citizen data is processed and stored in alignment with EU and Belgian data residency regulations.
"The deployment of Consono's Dynizer application on Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud enables us to run our data analytics processes entirely on the cloud while meeting data protection and residency requirements," said Patrick Meersseman and Serge Vermeersch, digital protection officers, Information Security Department, Cevi. "This gives us greater visibility and control of critical data assets while enabling us to take full advantage of the benefits of cloud technology, including cost efficiency, performance, and scalability."
"With demand from nearly every country in the EU, across 22 industries including government, professional services, financial services, healthcare, technology, and telecommunications, the Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud is a popular choice for deploying EU-based cloud services," said Agnieszka Bruyere, vice president, EMEA Cloud, Oracle. "Our clients such as the NU-MED Group, the Estonian IT Centre and Consono, and many others, no longer need to make a trade-off between realizing the benefits of cloud technology and addressing data sovereignty. With Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud and distributed cloud options in their data center, they can accelerate cloud adoption and technology modernization while gaining greater control of their critical data assets and meeting EU regulations."
Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud, currently being used in 15 countries across Europe, enables commercial and public sector organizations to place sensitive data and applications in the cloud in alignment with EU data privacy and sovereignty requirements. It is located entirely within the EU, supported by EU-resident personnel, and operated by separate legal entities incorporated within the EU. Available for customers in all 27 member states of the EU and globally, Oracle EU Sovereign Cloud gives customers the services and capabilities of OCI's public cloud regions with the same prices, support, and service level agreements (SLAs) on performance, management and availability.
