Sterling Heights Historical Commission to Offer Holiday Photo Opportunity at Upton House

Tired of the same old Christmas card photos? This holiday season, the Sterling Heights Public Library, in collaboration with the Historical Commission, is offering an extraordinary chance to capture cherished memories in a festive Victorian setting at the Upton House Museum. On Sunday, Nov. 10, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., you're invited to participate in a special photo opportunity that will transport you back in time.

"This special holiday photo opportunity at the Upton House Museum is a wonderful way to connect with our city's rich history and create lasting memories with your loved ones during the holiday season," said Tammy Turgeon, Sterling Heights Public Library director and Historical Commission staff liaison. "We encourage our patrons to take a step back in time and embrace the spirit of the season, while also creating your own history at the Upton House Museum."

For a charitable donation of just $10, individuals and families can immerse themselves in the rich history and holiday spirit of the Upton House Museum, all while striking a pose for their very own Christmas card photo.

What to Expect:

  • Victorian Elegance: The Upton House Museum will be beautifully decorated for the holidays, providing the perfect backdrop for your Christmas photos.
  • Dress as You Please: Whether you want to come dressed casually or in your finest holiday attire, the choice is yours. For those who wish to fully embrace the Victorian era, a limited number of period costumes in various sizes will be available for use during the photo session.
  • Professional Assistance: Members of the Historical Commission will be on hand to take your photos using your camera, ensuring everyone is included in the holiday magic. Alternatively, you're welcome to take your own photographs.
  • Quick and Convenient: Each photo session is allotted up to 10 minutes, and you will leave with your pictures on your own device.
