Press releases| 17 October 2024

London, 17 October 2024 - Leading global law firm Hogan Lovells is proud to announce the 125th anniversary of its London office, celebrating a century of legal excellence, exceptional client service, and a commitment to our local communities.

"As we celebrate our 125th anniversary, we also reflect on our legacy and continued success in London, which have been instrumental in shaping Hogan Lovells into the powerhouse that it is today - a leading global law firm that shines at the intersection of business and government", said Miguel Zaldivar, CEO of Hogan Lovells. "Our clients choose English law to do business, and the strength of our presence in London amplifies our influence across the world and our strong connection with global financial markets."

Since the establishment of its first legacy firm, Lovell & Broad, in 1899, with just two partners and an office assistant, Hogan Lovells has grown to become one of the pre-eminent global law firms in the City, with approx. 600 lawyers and 145 partners in the UK, and more than 2,600 lawyers globally.

Penny Angell, UK Managing Partner, added: "For 125 years, we have been trusted advisors to both UK and global businesses facing their most complex legal matters. We are delighted to celebrate this milestone with our clients and our people, and look forward to continuing to provide top-tier legal services for many years to come."

Throughout its 125-year history in London, the firm has established its position as global leader in regulatory, disputes, and corporate matters across various sectors, including financial services, technology, life sciences, and others.

The firm was also the first in Europe to create a dedicated pro bono practice. It is consistently recognised as one of the leading firms for pro bono, and continues to act on the most complex and impactful pro bono cases. Recent notable efforts include advising the Refugee Paralympic Team competing in the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games, advising the London's Air Ambulance Charity on the acquisition of two new emergency helicopters, brought into service this month, to provide critical trauma care, and working with the Politics Project to encourage first-time voters to participate in the UK General Election.

As Hogan Lovells celebrates this historic milestone, it remains committed to delivering exceptional legal services and making a positive impact on both the legal profession and the broader community.
