Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 7300 Avenue H

December 13, 2024- The fatal shooting of a man at 7300 Avenue H about 9:50 p.m. on Wednesday (December 11) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased male, 43, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

The two male shooters, both in their early 20's, were not injured.

HPD Homicide Division Detectives J. Diaz and M. Castillo reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address. Officers found a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Further investigation and witness statements determined that two groups were having a verbal altercation when a male took out a knife and swung it at the individuals from the other group. Two individuals then fired multiple rounds at the male striking him multiple times. Both male shooters remained at the scene.

The Harris County District Attorney's Office was contacted and it was determined the case would be reviewed by a grand jury.
