The annual celebration is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education.
The goal: To promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences.
"The international experience builds understanding and respect among different people, enables problem-solving skills, and leads to an open mind," said Aaron Hurt, director of International Programs and Services at Pitt State. "We are fortunate at Pitt State that we have a long and rich history of welcoming international students and offering students opportunities abroad."
Currently, nearly 300 international students are enrolled at Pitt State and represent 50 countries. Additionally, students and faculty have numerous international opportunities through Pitt State Study Abroad, including faculty-led programs, exchange programs, and affiliate programs.
