Welcome to the LBPD Blotter!

As part of our ongoing commitment to external communications and providing valuable information to our community, the Department posts preliminary information about incidents that occurred the previous evening, including shootings and stabbings, as well as any other LBPD updates to the Department's homepage and on the "News" tab of the Department's website. This page will be updated as new incidents occur.
Here's a recap of incidents occurring last night:

  • No-Hit Shooting - 2200 block of Olive Avenue - On Oct. 14, 2024, at approximately 11:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2200 block of Olive Avenue regarding a shots call. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult suspect with minor injuries to the upper body. Long Fire Department personnel responded to the scene to treat the victim's minor injuries. The preliminary information suggests the suspect and a male adult suspect were engaged in a brief verbal altercation in the middle of the street that escalated when the suspect pointed a firearm at the victim. The suspect and victim subsequently got into a fight, during which the firearm was discharged, not hitting anyone. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle before officers arrived. No injuries were reported, and the investigation is ongoing.
  • Stabbing - 710 Freeway and Del Amo Boulevard - On Oct. 14, 2024, at approximately 11:47 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of W Del Amo Boulevard and the 710 Freeway regarding a stabbing call. Upon arrival, officers contacted a male adult victim with a non-life-threatening stab wound to the lower body. Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital for his injuries. The preliminary information suggests the victim was in the area when a male adult suspect approached and stabbed him. The suspect fled in an unknown direction before the officers arrived. Additional suspect information and motive for the incident is unknown, and the investigation is unknown.
