Human Rights Campaign Equality Votes PAC Launches Seven Figure Digital Ad Campaign to Mobilize Equality Voters in Battleground States for Kamala Harris & Pro Equality U.S.[...]

Washington, DC - Today, with four weeks to go before Election Day, the Human Rights Campaign Equality Votes PAC launched a seven-figure digital ad campaign to turn out Equality Voters in four key battleground states for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz. The campaign, which features streaming video, radio and display ads, lays out the clear contrast between Kamala Harris, who has spent her career fighting to advance LGBTQ+ equality, and Donald Trump, who would move us backwards and threaten all of our rights and freedoms. The ads will run in the battleground states of Arizona, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, reaching more than 1.5 million Equality Voters.

  • Watch: "Not Going Back," which contrasts Harris' long record of fighting for LGBTQ+ equality with Trump and MAGA Republicans' plan to take our progress back decades.
  • Watch: "Shadows," which showcases how Trump has brought hatred out of the shadows, while Harris has always fought for the safety and freedoms of all our families.

Not Going Back

HRC Equality Votes PAC will also run ads encouraging voters to keep a pro-equality majority in the U.S. Senate by voting for Ruben Gallego in Arizona, Elissa Slotkin in Michigan, Bob Casey in Pennsylvania, and Tammy Baldwin in Wisconsin.

"This election is going to come down to the smallest of margins, but the difference between an equality champion like Kamala Harris in the White House or another reign of terror from Donald Trump couldn't be greater. That's why HRC's Equality Votes PAC is making the robust investments to mobilize Equality Voters, who will once again make the difference in battleground states across the country," said Guy Cecil, chief strategist for the HRC Equality Votes PAC. "With the rise in anti-LGBTQ+ attacks and the threat of the Trump-Vance Project 2025 agenda on the horizon, the stakes for this election could not be higher. We must elect Kamala Harris, Tim Walz, and equality champions across the country who will protect and advance our fundamental freedoms."

Appearing across pre-roll, connected television, streaming audio, and social media platforms, the HRC Equality Votes PAC ad campaign will engage more than 1.5 million Equality Voters who are not habitual voters each election cycle. Equality Voters, comprising more than 75 million people nationwide, are a geographically diverse, multiracial, and multigenerational voting bloc who are united by the advancement of LGBTQ+ equality. These voters are younger, more racially diverse, and more female than the general electorate. Read more about the 75 million Equality Voters here.

Equality Voters are poised to once again make a difference in this election. In 2022, Equality Voters, who made up 39% of the electorate, stopped the anticipated red wave in its tracks, with 81% of them voting for U.S. House Democratic candidates. In 2020, 79 percent of Equality Voters supported Joe Biden, effectively delivering the White House.

Separately, the Human Rights Campaign launched two new ads aimed at encouraging voters to make their voices heard at the polls by getting out the vote as part of a six-figure ad buy.

Watch the ads "Vote Your Way" and "Walk of Shame."

Combined, the two ad buys from the Human Rights Campaign Equality Votes PAC and HRC are for $2 million.
