Town Hall Closing at noon and Things to Know!

The Town of Fort Myers Beach Emergency Management continues to monitor Hurricane Milton. Fort Myers Beach is now under a Hurricane Watch with a possibility of 5ft - 10ft of storm surge in our area.

Town Hall will be closing at noon, today, October 7, 2024. Staff will no longer be here to monitor the process of Hurricane Re-entry Pass distribution or sandbag distribution.

Things to Know:

  1. As previously mentioned, the Town of Fort Myers Beach has issued a Mandatory Evacuation for the entire Island. For the safety of you and your family, the Town urges residents to evacuate safely by 3:00pm today, Monday, October 7, 2024. All trailers/recreation vehicles, dumpsters, porta-potties, and electric vehicles, such as golf carts, are required to be taken off Island.
    • When it is safe to return to the Island, the Hurricane Re-entry Program will be implemented following Hurricane Milton.
  1. Your Hurricane Re-entry Pass must be the current teal pass. Old passes will not work.
  2. If you do not have a pass, you can pick one up at Town Hall today, October 7, until 12:00pm.
  3. Once the storm passes, if you need assistance with re-entry, beginning at 7:00am on Thursday morning staff will be at two locations to hand out passes. This is subject to change depending on when the storm passes.
  1. Target: 15880 San Carlos Blvd Ste 101, Fort Myers, FL 33908
  2. Ace Hardware: 18911 S Tamiami Trl, Fort Myers, FL 33908
  1. Town Staff and the Lee County Sherriff Department will be located at re-entry points to check for re-entry passes. If you do not have one, you will not be allowed on Island.
  1. Water to the Island will be shut off beginning at noon on Tuesday, October 8, 2024.
    • This is a precautionary measure, by Lee County Utilities, to protect infrastructure. It was also implemented during 2022's Hurricane Ian.

The Town of Fort Myers Beach will update you as the storm progresses. Stay safe and stay prepared!
