Anchorage, AK - Alaska Regional Hospital was recognized by Healthgrades for specialty excellence. The 250-bed Anchorage hospital was named of America's 100 Best Hospitals for Spine Surgery™ for the second straight year (2024-2025), and also received two Specialty Excellence Awards and four Five-Star specialty ratings.
"We're proud of the capabilities and quality that enable us to improve the lives of families in Alaska with our care," said Dr. Filip Roos, chief medical officer of HCA Healthcare's Mountain Division, which comprises the Anchorage facility and its sister sites in Idaho and Utah. "The extremely skilled physicians affiliated with Alaska Regional are backed by a team of 1,000 caregivers, support team members and leaders, all of whom are committed to delivering quality care in all of the areas where we serve patients."
In addition to being named a top hospital for spine surgery, Alaska Regional Hospital earned 2025 Specialty Excellence Awards for having results in the top 10% in specialty areas. It received its second consecutive Spine Surgery Excellence Award™ (2024-2025) and also was recognized with the Joint Replacement Excellence Award™.
Additionally, Healthgrades honored Alaska Regional with Five-Star specialty ratings in Spinal Fusion Surgery for the fifth straight year (2021-2025), Total Knee Replacement for the fourth straight year (2022-2025), Back Surgery for the second straight year (2024-2025), and Total Hip Replacement.
In all, Mountain Division facilities earned a total of 37 Five-Star ratings.
