Public Encouraged to Share Input on Future EBR Correctional Facilities

Baton Rouge, LA - November 22, 2024 - Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome and the East Baton Rouge Juvenile and Jail Task Force invite all residents to participate in shaping the future of our correctional facilities. Your voice matters in creating safe, rehabilitative, and effective environments for our community.

This process is critical to ensuring that these new facilities reflect the needs and values of the community, with a focus on reducing crime, lowering recidivism rates, and offering rehabilitative services. A visioning session and a series of four library listening sessions (with one library meeting remaining), plus a final planning session, are being facilitated by Grace Hebert Curtis Architects, the firm tasked with leading the study.

Upcoming Library Listening Meeting:

Monday, November 25, 2024, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Jones Creek Regional Branch Library, 6222 Jones Creek Road

Planning Session:

Monday, December 9, 2024, 10 a.m., Grace Hebert Curtis offices, 501 Government Street, Baton Rouge
