The 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges rankings, released today, place Seton Hall among the top 38 percent of national universities, solidifying its position as a leading institution of higher education.

"These rankings reflect Seton Hall's unwavering dedication to providing a transformative educational experience," said Monsignor Joseph Reilly, S.T.L., Ph.D., President of Seton Hall University. "Our consistent recognition across multiple ranking systems underscores the value of a Seton Hall education and the positive impact our graduates make in their communities and professions."

U.S. News & World Report Rankings
In the 2025 edition of U.S. News & World Report's Best Colleges, Seton Hall is ranked #165 among National Universities. This placement keeps Seton Hall firmly in the top tier of national universities.

Notable achievements in the U.S. News rankings include:

  • Strong performance in graduate earnings, ranking #62 nationally for the percentage of graduates earning more than high school graduates
  • Improved first-year retention rates, moving up 16 spots in this category
  • Continued excellence in financial resources, ranking in the top half of national universities

Consistent Excellence Across Multiple Rankings
Seton Hall's strong performance extends beyond the U.S. News rankings. In the 2025 Forbes America's Top Colleges list, Seton Hall jumped to #221 nationally, a significant improvement from its position in previous years. The University also maintained its inclusion in The Princeton Review's Best 390 Colleges and received high marks in several categories from Niche.com, including:

  • #20 Best Catholic Colleges in America
  • #60 Best College for Information Technology
  • #67 Best College for International Relations
  • #84 Best College for Accounting/Finance

Katia Passerini, Ph.D., Provost and Senior Executive Vice President, commented on the rankings: "These achievements are a testament to the dedication of our faculty and the hard work of our students across all disciplines. Our consistent performance in these rankings reflects our commitment to fostering an environment of academic excellence and innovation."

Commitment to Affordability and Student Success
Seton Hall continues to prioritize affordability and return on investment for its students. The university has seen a 19% enrollment growth over the past decade, bucking the national trend of declining enrollments. This growth is a testament to the value proposition Seton Hall offers its students. "Our success lies in our identity as a welcoming Catholic institution that provides hardworking students with transformative educational experiences that lead to opportunity and a lifetime of fulfillment," said Monsignor Reilly.

The university's focus on student outcomes is evident in its impressive post-graduation statistics:

  • 97% of recent graduates are employed, in graduate school, or involved in service within six months of graduation
  • 99.6% of students applying to graduate school are accepted
