Fatal Hit-And-Run Investigation

Los Angeles: The Los Angeles Police Department's (LAPD) Central Traffic Division detectives are investigating a fatal hit-and-run traffic collision that killed a man.

On December 2, 2024, around 11:00 p.m., a pedestrian was in an alley west of Westlake Avenue and north of Wilshire Boulevard. A silver Nissan Sentra, possibly between the years of 2007-2012, was traveling southbound in the alley when it collided into the pedestrian. The driver of the Nissan Sentra failed to stop, identify themselves, or render aid, as required by law.

The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. His name is being withheld pending identification and notification of next of kin by the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office.

Video of the suspect's vehicle can be viewed here: www.lapdonline.org

Motorists are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.

On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $50,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender's identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
