U.S. News & World Report Names Conemaugh Nason Medical Center Among Best Hospitals for 2024 2025 as High Performing in Heart Attack Care

Conemaugh Nason Medical Center has been named by U.S. News & World Report as one of the Best Hospitals for 2024-2025, earning a High-Performing rating in Heart Attack care. This distinction represents the highest level of recognition a hospital can achieve in U.S. News Best Hospitals Procedures & Conditions ratings.

The annual Procedures & Conditions ratings are designed to guide patients and healthcare providers in making informed decisions about care for complex health conditions and elective procedures.

"We are incredibly proud to be recognized by U.S. News & World Report as a High-Performing hospital for Heart Attack care," said Michelle Buttry, Chief Operating Officer of Conemaugh Nason. "This honor reflects our mission of making communities healthier and our team's steadfast dedication to delivering exceptional cardiac care. It underscores our commitment to ensuring that patients receive timely, effective treatment when it matters most."

U.S. News evaluated nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide across 15 specialties and 20 procedures and conditions. Hospitals receiving a "High Performing" rating excelled in areas like clinical outcomes, nursing care, and patient experience.

"For 35 years, U.S. News has been a trusted resource for patients navigating their healthcare choices," said Ben Harder, Chief of Health Analysis and Managing Editor at U.S. News. "The 'High Performing' designation acknowledges hospitals that consistently deliver top-tier care for specific procedures and conditions, highlighting their expertise and commitment to patient well-being."

U.S. News uses objective metrics such as risk-adjusted mortality rates, preventable complications, and nursing care levels to determine these rankings. This year, U.S. News expanded its analysis to include data on outpatient care and care for patients with Medicare Advantage, nearly doubling the patient sample size and adding new depth to its quality measures.

In addition to the High-Performing recognition in heart attack care, Conemaugh Nason is an accredited Chest Pain Center with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention by the American College of Cardiology. The hospital is accredited as a Cardiac Catheterization Lab through Corazon, a national program development center for cardiac, vascular, and specialty service lines.

"This recognition speaks to our mission of making communities healthier by delivering high-quality, compassionate care close to home," Buttry added. "We're honored to serve as a healthcare partner for our community, supporting healthier lives and stronger futures for those we serve."
