Tuberville to Newsmax: “The old ball coach got ran out of the stadium”

WASHINGTON - Last night, U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) joined Rob Schmitt on Newsmax to discuss Democrat Vice Presidential Candidate Tim Walz's failure to defend the failed border policies of the Biden-Harris administration in Tuesday night's debate. Senator Tuberville also weighed in on the continued weaponization of the Biden-Harris Department of Justice toward President Donald Trump.

Excerpts from Senator Tuberville's remarks can be found below, and his full remarks can be viewed on YouTube or Rumble.

SCHMITT: "Senator Tommy Tuberville, who's joining us now. Sir, good to have you on. I hope you heard some of the conversation we had. As I count it, there was not supposed to be any fact checks last night. There were two fact checks. Of course, they only went against the Republican, and they both were wrong, which is the best part."

TUBERVILLE: "Yeah, well the old ball coach got ran out of the stadium last night. He was like the junior varsity team. What a mess that was. I tell you, I actually enjoyed the debate because there was some policy talk. President Trump's last two, they wouldn't let him talk policy because the other two-Kamala Harris and President Biden-couldn't put two words together. There was no policy. But at least there was a little policy talk last night, and JD Vance, I knew going in-I've known JD now for a year and a half, and I've heard him speak on the floor. We've debated together. He's good, he's sharp, and he's fact-based…" […]

"This was the hour of fame for Tim Walz, and he probably won't get another hour of fame after this election because he got schooled last night."

SCHMITT: "I agree with you there completely. I want to change the subject here completely. I want to talk about Special Prosecutor Jack Smith, who's gone full Democrat operative dumping out an October surprise the day after Tim Walz loses the debate, which just gives the media the perfect excuse to stop talking about the debate because they don't want to talk about that, and showing a tactic to get around the immunity ruling that he hates so much. He's now saying Trump extensively used private actors and his campaign infrastructure to attempt to overturn the election results and operated in a private capacity as a candidate for office. So now, he's just flipping the whole script of his case to try and weasel around what the Supreme Court has said. I mean, Trump said, 'March to the Capitol peacefully and patriotically,' they found no connection between Trump and the rioters on January 6th, and on January 28th he left the White House peacefully and headed to Florida. And yet after all of this, and the immunity ruling on top of that, this man refuses to give up and dumps this out in early October."

TUBERVILLE: "Well, he's a political hack. We all know that. He's bought and paid for, but at the end of the day, President Trump's going to come out on top on this." […]

"At the end of the day, the Jack Smith guy-he doesn't have anything to go on. He knows that. He's just trying to push a political narrative, and again, as you said, after the debacle last night-this debate-they're trying every way they possibly can to get that off TV and get it out of the news for the next 24 hours."

SCHMITT: "That's exactly right. Senator, thank you so much for coming on tonight. We appreciate it."

Senator Tommy Tuberville represents Alabama in the United States Senate and is a member of the Senate Armed Services, Agriculture, Veterans' Affairs, and HELP Committees.
