Investigation Update: On Tuesday, November 26, 2024, members of the Fugitive Unit were conducting an ongoing investigation in the area of Homer Street. Officers were aware that the 16-year-old Juvenile male was wanted on a warrant out of Dorchester District Court for Murder, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
Officers observed two individuals enter the rear of a motor vehicle, with one believed to be the suspect of the investigation. Officers followed the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop in the area of Neptune Road. Officers removed the suspect from the vehicle, and placed him into handcuffs. Officers conducted a search incident to arrest and recovered a firearm with thirteen rounds in the magazine.
The suspect was placed under arrest for the warrants and was additionally charged with Delinquent to wit; Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Delinquent wit wit; Carrying a Loaded Firearm, and Delinquent wit wit; Possession of a High Capacity Firearm. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
The facts and circumstances surrounding the original incident are as follows: At about 8:34 PM, on Friday, June 28, 2024, officers assigned to District 11 (Dorchester) responded to a report of a car that crashed into a building at 24 Fifield Street. On arrival, the officers located the passenger of the vehicle, an adult male, who had a broken leg and was transported by Boston EMS to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the vehicle, an adult male, was found non-viable and was pronounced on scene. The victim has since been identified as Edwin Diaz-Geraldo, 20, of Brighton.
