Washington Virtual Academies Student Releases Debut Novel at Just 13 Years Old

Orginially published on Komo News - May 5th, 2024

Rubiee L., a 13-year-old student at Washington Virtual Academies (WAVA), has achieved a remarkable feat by releasing her debut novel, "The Ways of Wolves." In an interview on Komo News, Rubiee shared her lifelong passion for writing, nurtured by the ample free time and natural surroundings of her island home. Inspired during the pandemic, her book follows a wolf pup named Blue Jay on his journey to fit in with his peers. Despite the surprise from others at her young accomplishment, Rubiee insists that passion makes the writing process easy. She encourages other young aspiring writers to pursue their dreams. Rubiee hosted a book signing at Salon Rise in Tacoma on May 17th.
