Tributes will be paid throughout Waverley over the Remembrance weekend in honour of those who have served their country in armed conflict.
This year, Remembrance Sunday falls on Sunday, 10 November. This is the closest Sunday to Armistice Day, which follows on Monday, 11 November, the date when First World War hostilities came to an end in 1918. It is a national day which serves to remember and honour the servicemen and women who lost their lives.
The Mayor of Waverley, Councillor John Ward, will lead the tributes at the Farnham Remembrance Service at St Andrew's Church.
Councillor Ward said: "Remembrance Day holds deep significance as we pay tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for our nation's safety. Their limitless bravery and steadfast resolve in the face of extreme hardship must always be remembered. We will never forget them."
