The San Roque Energy Park is awarded as the best installation in its sector for its digitalization and AI project
Moeve has been distinguished at the European Refining Technology Conference-Ask the experts (ERTC), where Antonio Joyanes, director of Energy Parks at the company, has received the Downstream Executive of the Year award, while The San Roque Energy Park (Cádiz) has been acclaimed as the top installation in its sector, thanks to its groundbreaking digitalization and Artificial Intelligence project.
Joyanes, who took part in the
"Biofuels and Renewable Fuels Panel: Riding the Rollercoaster of a Biofuels Project" panel, has made the most of his participation to contribute to the main strategic lines of Moeve in relation to biological fuels and synthetic fuels, with a particular focus on establishing the first green hydrogen corridor linking southern and northern Europe. "A true test of courage supported by values and the advantage of building these new energy solutions and their markets around highly competitive industrial ecosystems, based on operational excellence and continuous improvement," he emphasized after receiving his distinction.
Meanwhile, Celia Ruiz, Digital Development, presented
"Artificial Intelligence for Gasoil Blending: From Buzzword to Added Value and Talent Factory", explaining the added value, the transformation in ways of working and the use of advanced analytics tools in decision making. Other digital advancements by Moeve in its Energy Parks were also discussed by Juan Salazar, from Operational Excellence, Óscar Martín, from Integrated Management and Continuous Improvement, and Patricia Extremera, Project Manager for IT Solutions, who with the
"Digital Mobility reshaping Operations in Moeve Energy Parks" presentation showcased the application of GMA (Mobile Asset Management), developed with the Information Systems team, emphasizing the tool's importance as well as the new, more agile and informed workflow it has introduced. At the end, Rafael Moreno Badia, Technical Excellence, presented
The Real Journey towards Digital Twins: A Case for a Hydrocracking Reactor in an Energy Park.
The ERTC event is considered the biggest European event in the energy sector. The conference was held in Lisbon (Portugal) this time, and focused on how technological solutions can help the industry for a resilient and sustainable future.
Energy Parks are undergoing a transformation within Moeve's Positive Motion 2030 strategy that will lead to their decarbonization, as well as that of their customers through their products, based on green hydrogen and e-fuels, second-generation biofuels and the use of renewable energy sources. Positive Motion aims to reduce its emissions by 50% by 2030, compared to 2019. The goal for reducing the carbon intensity of sold products during the same period has been set at 15-20%. In both cases, the scope of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 has been set.
The Digitalization Plan of the San Roque Energy Park, along with its areas of Digital Development, Corporate Digital, and Information Systems deployed this year, has implemented techniques for greater efficiency and safety in operations, including 5G connectivity, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) and artificial intelligence. This deployment enables the standardization, evolution, and democratization of the position of all professionals working in Moeve's Operations area, enhancing user experience, simplifying environments and maximizing daily operations.
As part of the Digitalization Plan, technological devices were also delivered, set up for use inside industrial installations (ATEX), enabling the use of Industry 4.0 applications, such as artificial intelligence (AI) or augmented reality (AR). To add to that, Moeve is developing specific industrial apps for its area of activity in order to improve performance and take advantage of the full potential of the private 5G network that the company has deployed in its centers.
Technological innovation is one of the key drivers for accelerating the objectives of Moeve's Positive Motion strategic plan, which is currently the most digitized and interconnected company regarding operations in the Andalusian business ecosystem, where its two energy parks (San Roque and Palos de la Frontera) are located, and it leads the way at a European level within its sector.
