The American Health Law Association (AHLA) has selected Barnes & Thornburg partner John Kelly as its 2024 Patricia Meador Leadership Award recipient. The award recognizes individuals who show a high level of commitment to fraud and compliance education, actively mentor association members on fraud and compliance, maintain a commitment to fraud and compliance activities that make a positive impact on members, and advocate for innovative approaches to ensure the highest level of fraud and compliance education.
Kelly, chair of Barnes & Thornburg's Healthcare Department and Industry Practice, represents clients in criminal and civil healthcare fraud matters, including government investigations and False Claims Act litigation. He also serves as outside compliance and investigations counsel for a number of healthcare companies, including those subject to the requirements of a corporate integrity agreement.
Established by the AHLA's Fraud and Abuse Practice Group in tribute to attorney and fellow, the late Patricia T. Meador, this award is given annually in recognition of her exemplary leadership to the national health law bar.
Kelly was honored on Oct. 28 at the AHLA Fraud and Compliance Forum held Oct. 28-30 in Baltimore.
