CEI's 77 Idea Quest to spark student innovation

Grand Valley students can showcase their entrepreneurial skills and talents, courtesy of a competition presented by the DeVos Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation.

The 77 Idea Questoffers any GVSU student a chance to present their innovative ideas and solutions for real-world challenges, said CEI Director Shorouq Almallah. The competition offers $10,000 across 11 prizes.

Registration opens on November 8, and students can participate either individually or in teams of up to three members.

For the first stage, students will develop a presentation or short video explaining the problem and their proposed solution. In the second stage, students will gather support for their idea from the GVSU community, who can vote through the center's online voting platform.

Along the way, CEI will provide exclusive workshops and technical support to help students refine their concepts.

Finalists will present their ideas with a five-minute presentation and Q&A session. The top prize is $3,000 with second and third places earning $2,000 and $1,000, respectively.

Additionally, a $500 College Champion Award will be presented to the best idea from each of these colleges: Seidman College of Business, College of Computing, College of Education and Community Innovation, Padnos College of Engineering, College of Health Professions, Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Kirkhof College of Nursing.
