Investigation into Fatal Crash at 12200 Almeda Road

October 14, 2024- Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 12200 Almeda Road about 2:15 a.m. on Sunday (October 13).

The identity of the deceased male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sgt. R. Dallas and Officer D. Thompson reported:

The driver of a black Chevrolet Equinox was traveling southbound at the above address when she struck a pedestrian walking in the lanes of traffic. The male pedestrian was crossing westbound on Almeda Plaza Drive. Paramedics pronounced the male deceased at the scene.

The female driver, 39, remained at the scene, was determined not to be impaired, and was questioned and released.

The investigation is continuing.
