ECU appoints new Director of Alumni Relations

ADA, Okla. - Jessica Sanchez has been named Director of Alumni Relations for East Central University.

"I am deeply honored to have been chosen for this meaningful role," stated Sanchez, "and even more grateful for the opportunity to give back to my Alma Mater."

The Director of Alumni Relations focuses on outreach, networking, communications and general support between alumni and graduates through a variety of events and fundraisers, among many other responsibilities.

"We are very happy to name Jessica as our Director of Alumni Relations. She is very creative, talented and brings many exciting ideas to this position" said ECU President Wendell Godwin.

Sanchez received her, Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2015 from ECU and her Master of Science in Human Resources in 2023.

Following graduation, she began working with the ECU McNair Scholars Program. After a brief time away from ECU, she returned to the McNair office in 2019 and most currently has excelled as the Creative Coordinator/Executive Assistant for the ECU Foundation where she has been since 2022.

Discussing ECU, Sanchez stated, "During my time here, I have built lifelong friendships, received a valuable education, and discovered my passion for higher education through serving the East Central University community."

Sanchez takes on the role of Director of Alumni Relations beginning in January, bringing her years of professional experience and her longstanding history with ECU as both an alum and a staff member, to the position, "I look forward to working with our incredible alumni to celebrate our Tiger Pride and continue to build a strong and connected ECU family."
