Detectives Investigating Fatal Shooting on Hillhurst Drive

Homicide detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding Sunday morning's fatal shooting of a man near the intersection of Hillhurst Drive and Lyndale Drive.

The victim is tentatively identified as a 21-year-old Nashville man. The Medical Examiner is working to make positive identification.

The victim was transported to Skyline Medical Center where he died. He was driven to the hospital in a car containing three other men, arriving at 1:45 a.m.

During an interview, one of the men said they were going to a party at 3017 Hillhurst when the victim was shot. East Precinct officers responded to the area and located a crime scene in the middle of the street.

The investigation continues.
