Campbell Law students receive scholarships from Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) chapter

RALEIGH- Two Campbell Law School students have been awarded Research Triangle Area Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) scholarships.

Brianna Kolsin '25 and Imani Henderson '26 will each receive $5,000 to go toward tuition, according to Brian Klemm, board member of the Research Triangle Area Chapter of the ACC.

"The Chapter was most impressed with your many accomplishments, strong leadership and academic promise," Klemm wrote in an email to the recipients. "In keeping with the terms of the Scholarship Program, your award will be directed to your law school to defray your tuition and related fees."

Associate Professor Bobbi Jo Boyd said, "I can't think of a more deserving student for this award. In addition to having Brianna in class during her first year, I saw her excel in her in-house corporate counsel internship during the summer of 2023. I hope you will join me in celebrating this good news!"

Director and Professor of Externships Nick Sanders said, "I'm also happy to report that Imani Henderson was also awarded this scholarship! She secured a summer internship with Lawyer's Mutual through the NCBA Minorities in the Profession's 1L Summer Associate Program and is currently in my class while externing at LabCorp."

Dean Emerita Melissa Essary added Henderson wants to practice as an in-house attorney. "This scholarship award is a huge accomplishment!," she wrote in an email.

Both scholarship recipients were invited to attend the Chapter's Annual Dinner on Friday, Nov. 8, at the Umstead Hotel in Cary, North Carolina, for the opportunity to network with some of their in-house counsel members.

"Congratulations on being among this year's recipients of the scholarship! I and others on the Board of the Research Triangle Area Chapter wish you continued success in your legal studies, and we look forward to meeting you," Klemm added.

Kolsin, a native of Staten Island, New York, is a Campbell Law Review editor and a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions Negotiation Team. She has been a contracts intern at Collins Aerospace supporting supply chain contracts and sourcing agreements since May 2023. She has prior legal experience in areas such as trademark, copyright, business, litigation, data privacy and social security disability from her work at Kliebert Law and Garcia Law Firm in Charlotte, North Carolina. She served as a custody advocate for the Council of Children's Rights and continues to volunteer with Girls Who Code and the North Carolina Pro Bono Resource Center. Kolsin graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a bachelor of arts in political science in 2022.

Henderson, a native of Goldsboro, North Carolina, is also a recipient of the law school's Ben & Patrice Thompson Achievement Scholarship, which is offered annually to one high-achieving student who has overcome significant obstacles in life, such as socio-economic or educational hardships, disabilities or other major challenges.  A full-time associate recruiter in Construction Management at Actalent, Henderson graduated from Elon University with a bachelor's degree in international business with a Spanish minor. In 2022, she participated in the Council On International Educational Exchange (CIEE)'s Teach Abroad Program in Madrid, Spain.
