On 27 September 2024, Mr. Phuchphop Mongkolnawin, Deputy Director-General, International Organizations Department, delivered a statement at the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) Group of Friends High-level Meeting during the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA79) in New York.

On this occasion, the Deputy Director-General reaffirmed Thailand's commitment to embracing cultural and religious diversity. He highlighted Thailand's Constitution, which guarantees religious freedom, as well as the National Action Plan for Promoting Peaceful Coexistence in a Multicultural Society for 2023-2027, which ensures that no one, regardless of their cultural or religious backgrounds, faces any discrimination. Additionally, Thailand pledged support for UNAOC's work in promoting intercultural and interreligious dialogue and expressed readiness to participate in the 10th UNAOC Global Forum to be held in November in Portugal, with the goal of fostering a more peaceful and inclusive world.
