Robinson Awarded Lever Fellowship

Danylle Robinson, a second-year graduate student in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Program at the U of A, was awarded the Benjamin Franklin Lever Tuition Fellowship in January of 2024. This award is highly competitive and only given to qualified students who reflect both the U of A's commitment to academics and diversity.

In 2023, Robinson graduated from Missouri State University with her Bachelor of Science in communication sciences and disorders. Robinson has always been interested in the medical field to pursue her passion of helping others, but when her grandfather became ill in 2017, the field of speech-language pathology furthered her interest. Robinson's grandfather played a huge role in her pursuing this career because she was able to see the impact the profession had made on him.

Robinson has a passion for helping people within her community while also being an advocate for those who may not be able to advocate for themselves. Robinson has a kind heart and wants to help as many people as possible in the field of speech-language pathology and beyond. Robinson started off her undergraduate studies as an undecided major, but it only took two months for her to decide the field of speech-language pathology was the profession for her.

Robinson is scheduled to graduate in May of 2025.

"I cannot wait to immerse myself in this field and be able to make an impact on so many lives," Robinson said. "I cannot thank all my professors and family enough for the continuous support they have given me. After graduation, I hope to be able to use all the tools and resources I have gained to help me be a successful speech pathologist. I am truly grateful to have received this fellowship and be able to share a little bit of my story."
