Weekly Wrap for Dec. 13

The City of Santa Fe Arts and Culture Department will host an opening reception in the Santa Fe Community Gallery on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. for an exhibit by Robert Washington-Vaughns, a multidisciplinary artist, filmmaker, and the founder and executive director of the Black Men Flower Project.

The exhibit continues through Feb 4, 2025

Washington-Vaughn's work focuses on amplifying the voices of Black men and boys through storytelling, art, and collective care. Drawing inspiration from his own healing journey, his projects blend symbolic florals, portraiture, and personal narratives to challenge stereotypes and foster healing.

His work has been featured in news segments and , print and digital publications, creating dialogues around joy, vulnerability, and reclamation. Through his art, he aims to cultivate spaces where Black men and boys feel seen, heard and acknowledged.
