Dallas Honors Former Park Director with Facility Naming Former Army Reserve Center Transformed into Office Spaces and Community Room

What

A ceremony will be held to officially name a former Army Reserve Center in honor of Paul D. Dyer, retired Director of Dallas Parkand Recreation Department. The event will feature remarks from city and community leaders and culminate with the unveiling of the building's new name. The renovated space, locatedin northeast Dallas, houses park employees from within the department's six divisions, including recreation, maintenance, athletics, reservations, information technology, and various administrative and operational functions. Dyer, who served as director from 1992 to 2013, played a key role in the development of the city's golf courses, and the creation of the department's strategic plan. He also had a significant impact on the privatization of the Dallas Zoo.
