Seattle police detectives are investigating a shooting in the Southpark neighborhood Friday night.
At 8:06 p.m., patrol officers responded to a report of an adult male shot in the 1400 block of South Henderson Street. They located a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, arm, neck, and face.
EMT trained officers provided medical aid on scene until the Seattle Fire Department arrived and continued treatment. The 21-year-old victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition and required emergency surgery.
The suspect(s) fled the scene before police arrived. Officers conducted a search of the area, but the suspect(s) were not located. No arrests have been made at this time. Police cordoned off the area until detectives arrived to process the scene.
The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation. Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit have been assigned to his case.
