Officers responded to the area of Polar Street and Dale Street for a report of a verbal altercation. Upon arrival, officers observed that a motor vehicle accident had occurred. Officers were quickly able to determine that no one was injured in the accident.
Officers observed one of the operators to be screaming and attempting to walk away. Officers were able to detain the suspect, and advised him that his vehicle needed to be towed.
Officers conducted a motor vehicle inventory search, and recovered a firearm from inside. The firearm was later determined to be a Glock 19 with a Sear Switch which makes the firearm fully automatic. The firearm had an obliterated serial number and seventeen rounds in the magazine.
Bereus was placed under arrest and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Receiving a Firearm with a Defaced Serial Number. He is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court.
