Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Holds Free Community Boot Camp March 30

Ages 14+ Invited To Join Firefighters For Challenging Workout
And Firefighter Academy Preparation

Las Vegas Fire & Rescue (LVFR) invites community members ages 14 and older to join firefighters for a community boot camp Sunday, March 30, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Training Center at 633 N. Mojave Ave.

In anticipation of the firefighter recruitment that opens in June 2025, as well as an upcoming LVFR Explorer Program recruitment in July, community members are invited to meet LVFR staff, learn how to prepare for the firefighter academy and participate in a challenging workout with firefighters.

The LVFR Explorer program educates, trains and mentors those ages 15-21 who want to learn more about the fire service.

Firefighter recruitment is open to ages 18 and older who have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license. Candidates will have to pass a written firefighter exam and physical fitness assessment. Current emergency medical technician or paramedic certification is preferred; wildfire experience/veteran status/military experience and bi-lingual fluency each will be a plus for candidates.
