Beavercreek Golf Club Set to Complete Final Phase of Bunker Renovations

The Beavercreek Golf Club is set to begin the final phase of its bunker renovation project in April 2025, marking a significant improvement to the course's playability and overall conditions.

The last phase of the project will cover 11 bunkers across holes 2, 3, 4, 12, 13, 14, and 15. Each bunker will undergo reshaping to better complement the existing landscape while reducing maintenance needs and enhancing water drainage. Some bunkers will be shifted or flipped for improved aesthetics and playability, while others will be removed entirely to better fit the course's evolving design.

"This renovation is going to make a tremendous difference for both players and staff," said Beavercreek Golf Course Manager and Pro Steve Klick. "We're excited to see these improvements take shape and provide a better experience for everyone who plays here."

The project aims to improve overall course conditions, reduce maintenance demands, and enhance the playability and aesthetics of the bunkers. The original bunkers had become labor-intensive to maintain, particularly after heavy rains that led to drainage issues and prolonged repair times.

As part of the renovation, all bunkers will receive new drain tiles and a two-inch gravel layer with a polymer binder, creating a durable, pliable base. Fresh bunker sand will be installed and compacted. During the polymer installation process, bunkers will be off-limits for 24 hours, with signs and barriers in place to ensure safety. Staff will keep players informed throughout the process.

Construction is expected to begin mid-April and last approximately six to seven weeks. Minimal disruption is anticipated, with work scheduled around the club's golf calendar to avoid hole closures. Temporary greens or tees may be set up as needed to ensure player safety. Construction activity will be limited on weekends.

"The work is planned to minimize disruptions, so there will be plenty of opportunities to play and experience the improvements as they take shape," said Klick.
