Former UC Davis Fire Chief Arraigned on Felony Indictment

(Woodland, CA) - December 12, 2024 - On December 9, 2024, former UC Davis Fire Chief Nathan J. Trauernicht, 45, was arraigned on a felony Indictment in Department 1 of the Yolo County Superior Court. The Indictment alleged a violation of Penal Code section 424(a)1, Misappropriation of Public Moneys. Mr. Trauernicht, of Sacramento, was indicted by a Yolo County Grand Jury on December 5, 2024. Meagan McFadden, 34, of Sacramento, also formerly employed by the UC Davis Fire Department has been charged with Misappropriation of Public Moneys in a separately filed Complaint.

Trauernicht's next court date is January 21, 2025, in Dept. 7 of the Yolo County Superior Court, for a trial setting conference. Trauernicht is out of custody on his own recognizance. McFadden is scheduled to be arraigned in Dept. 1 of the Yolo County Superior Court on January 21, 2025.
