HANNIBAL - Weather permitting, December 20, contractor crews will permanently close the access at the existing Frenchman Bluff Road at Missouri Route 47 in Troy, east of the MO 47/U.S. 61 interchange. All traffic will begin using the new Frenchman Bluff Road, located just east of the current location.
Motorists can expect short delays while a signalized one-lane section is completed on the southbound lane of Frenchman Bluff Road. This work is weather permitting.
Traffic on MO 47 will notice lane shifts at the U.S. 61 northbound on-ramp and U.S. 61 southbound off-ramp intersections in preparation to move MO 47 traffic to the newly constructed north half of the MO 47 bridge. The 10-foot lane restriction on MO 47, from North Lincoln Drive to East Cherry Street, will continue to remain in place.
The entire area of the interchange will be an active work zone over the next year. We would like to remind drivers to please slow down, obey all signs and eliminate distractions while driving. Signs and message boards will be in place to alert motorists, as schedule changes occur. MoDOT will alert the public about the project through signs, news releases and social media. We encourage you to view the videos of Stage 2 Construction and Stage 3 Constructionto learn more about traffic impacts. Please visit the project website at www.modot.org/missouri-route-47-and-us-route-61-interchange-improvements-lincoln to view all project construction stage videos.
The $15.4M contract was awarded this summer to KCI Construction Company of St. Louis, MO. The project is scheduled to be completed by the Fall of 2025.
