Anchorage, Alaska- Ryan Johnson and Max Helgeson each scored for Alaska Anchorage in a 2-2 tie with Augustana Thursday night.
The game started off with four penalties in the first seven minutes of play, but the teams settled down and found their rhythm with all four goals scored in the second period.
Simon Falk opened the scoring with his second goal of the season at 5:02. Payton Matsui scored 20 seconds later to push the Viking's lead to 2-0.
The Seawolves responded with a pair of goals.
Ryan Johnson scored his team-leading eighth goal of the season with a one-timer on the doorstep at 9:39.
Max Helgeson scored his second goal of the season in transition at 12:59.
Dimitry Kebreau, Dylan Contreras, Ethan Warrener and Davis Goukler each recorded assists for UAA.
Greg Orosz made 19 saves on 21 shots.
UAA finished with 24 shots.
The Seawolves were scoreless on both powerplay opportunities and held the Vikings scoreless on all four of their chances.
The Vikings won the shootout thanks to a goal by Tyler Hennen.
The two teams will close out the series Friday.
