The Pensacola Beach Lifeguards are launching the Pensacola Beach Surfing Warning Flag Text Alert notification system beginning Saturday, Dec. 14.
Utilizing the Everbridge Nixle Alerts mass notification system, citizens can receive daily text messages from the Pensacola Beach Lifeguards alerting them to the daily surf conditions at Pensacola Beach. If the surf warning flag color changes during the day, another text message will be sent updating the water conditions.
Text "PBFLAGS" to 888-777
Once registered, a confirmation text from Everbridge Nixle Alerts will be sent along with a welcome message from the Pensacola Beach Lifeguards. Respond to the text message with your email address to receive email alerts. Text "STOP" to 888-777 to discontinue receiving daily notifications.
Escambia County Emergency Management partnered with the Pensacola Beach Lifeguards during their weekly "A Minute with EM" video segment to discuss the Pensacola Beach Surf Warning Flag Text Alert notification system. View the video here.
