At September 27 extraordinary sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Labor and Social Affairs, a number of legislative initiatives were debated and endorsed in the second reading.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Armenuhi Harutyunyan presented the draft law On Making Addendum and Amendment to the RA Labor Code. The Government initiated amendments, which related to designing certain additional regulations regarding 'the compulsory idleness' and making simpler the current toolset. The purpose of the draft is to solve the caused problem and in practice, to have more justified and effective arrangements for receiving compensation for the period of forced unemployment due to the dismissal of the employee due to the fault of the employer to have in practice more justified and active regulations to get compensation. During the period from the first to the second reading proposals were not presented during the period from the first to the second reading.

The RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ruben Sargsyan presented the draft law on Amending the RA Civil Code and the package of the attached draft laws.

11 legislative acts - four codes and 7 laws are included in the package, where amendments of editorial, technical character are presented. As a result of the adoption of the draft, it is expected to improve the legislative field by eliminating existing inconsistencies.

As a result of the adoption of the draft law on Social Assistance and the attached presented draft laws, it is expected to improve the legislative field of the social assistance sector. As the RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ruben Sargsyan presented, during the period from the first to the second reading a number of debates were held and accordingly, voluminous amendments were made. In particular, the bases for assigning and refusing the insecurity benefit, three-month emergency aid were listed more exhaustively.

It is expected to create necessary legal bases for the introduction of a new family vulnerability assessment system by the adoption of the draft law On Making Amendments and Addenda to the law On State Allowances and the attached package of the draft laws.
