WASHINGTON - After Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said her goal is to spend every single dollar in the CHIPS for America program before President-elect Donald Trump takes office, Senate DOGE Caucus Chair Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) is demanding the Biden administration halt its multi-billion-dollar spending spree immediately.
Senator Ernst emphasized that this blatant disregard for tax dollars is exactly why she is leading the Senate DOGE Caucus to use her decade of experience making Washington squeal to eliminate waste and downsize government.
"This is not a time to let the CHIPS fall where they may. Haste makes waste as we learned when $280 billion of COVID dollars may have been handed to fraudsters in the rush to get the money out the door as quickly as possible. Shoveling out heaps of taxpayer dollars as fast as possible, with little to no oversight, is part of the reason the United States government is nearly $36 trillion in debt today," wrote Ernst.

Senator Ernst recently unveiled a blueprint of $2 trillion worth of waste to eliminate and released a detailed report showing how telework and locality pay abuse has fleeced taxpayers out of billions of dollars.
