Most City offices, including City Hall, will be closed Wednesday, Dec. 25, for the Christmas holiday. Emergency services will be available as usual.

Solid waste services. There will be no collections (garbage, recycling, yard waste or bulk) on Dec. 25. If your normal pickup day is on Wednesday, your pickup will be shifted to Thursday; Thursday service shifts to Friday; Friday service shifts to Saturday. Bulk collections will resume on Thursday. Monday and Tuesday collections will operate on normal collection schedules.

All residents are allowed two extra bags of garbage next to the cart on their first pickup day following Christmas. Extra bags will be collected by a separate truck on your collection day, and may be picked up earlier or later than your carts. Please do not call to report a missed collection if your extra bags are not collected at the same time your carts are collected.

The City's four Drop-Off Stations and the Environmental Collection Center will be closed Dec. 25 and reopen Dec. 26.

Animal services: North Animal Campus and Chuck & Brenda Silcox Animal Care & Adoption Center will be open normal hours on Dec. 24. They will be closed Dec. 25. Both Hulen and Alliance PetSmart Adoption Centers will be closed Christmas Day and open regular hours Dec. 26.

Libraries: All Fort Worth Public Library locations will be closed Dec. 25.

Recreational amenities: On Dec. 24, community centers close at 6 p.m.; Haws Athletic Center and Sycamore Community Center close at noon. On Dec. 25, all community centers, Haws Athletic Center, FW@6 programs and the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge will be closed. Log Cabin Village is closed Dec. 24-25. McLeland Tennis Center closes at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 24 and remains closed Dec. 25. Municipal golf courses close at 3 p.m. Dec. 24 and remain closed Dec. 25.

Water utility: To access the Water Department's automated system for payments and account inquiries or to report an emergency, call the 24-hour call center at 817-392-4477.

Mass transit: Trinity Metro will operate on a modified schedule.

City Council: The next meetings of the Fort Worth City Council will be on Tuesday, Jan. 14. A work session will be held at 1 p.m. in Room 2020 of Old City Hall, 200 Texas St., and a council meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the Council Chamber.
